Valuing learning, learning to value.

Yorkley School is a popular and well respected Community School of roughly 150 children whose catchment links to several neighbouring villages. It is located in a beautiful rural setting and benefits from updated and extended facilities, this year welcoming an additional classroom due to rising pupil numbers and demand. Ofsted graded the school ‘Good’ at its last inspection and the school continues to be ambitious in all aspects. Children are the heart of our school and their thoughts, needs and opinions are key to helping drive our school forward.

Welcome photo

I have had the pleasure of leading Yorkley School since April 2012 and know that together, as a team, we all work hard to make the school a welcoming, secure and exciting place not only for our pupils but their families and the wider community too. Parents continue to describe Yorkley as “Simply Superb, a happy, ambitious, friendly school where children love learning and strive to excel”.
Our motto is “Valuing learning, learning to Value”.  Our Values are Partnership, Perseverance, Patience, Practice and Pride. These link together to give children the “Power” to achieve and develop into responsible citizens.
Our committed and dedicated staff ensure that through our bespoke Curriculum that learning is inspiring, challenging and fun. We pride ourselves on being a caring school where our children’s welfare is important as we believe that happy, motivated children are successful children.
Standards at Yorkley continue to improve year on year with children leaving well prepared for Secondary School.  We give our children the opportunities to achieve their full potential academically, creatively, physically and socially, preparing each one for the challenges of the 21st century.
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you make for them early on in their life.  Limited places are still available in some year groups so it is important that you get this right. I would encourage you to come, get a feel for our school and relax in the knowledge when your child joins Yorkley, they will be happy and flourish.
Mrs Kate Burke, Head Teacher

Yorkley School Poem

We persevere just keep on trying,
Practice helps us be high flying.

We take our time and wait our turn,
Patience is a skill we learn.

We work together as one big team.
Partnership is never mean.

We should never have to hide,
We try our best, so we have pride.

The Yorkley values show us how,
We have the power to learn right now.

What our Parents say

  • My son has always loved his time at Yorkley School.  It has been a pleasure to watch him grow with confidence and ability over the years.  The school has now ‘grown’ over the years to a modern, bright, colourful and spacious environment.  The children are a credit to Yorkley.
  • A very welcoming and friendly school which I would highly recommend to any parent.
