Buddies
When your children start school with us at Yorkley, they will be matched with a Year 5 buddy. The buddies play an important part in creating a safe, friendly, happy and peaceful atmosphere for the children.
The Year 5 children volunteer to take on the role of a buddy. The buddies really enjoy their responsibilities and are a significant part of making the school a happy place for all of the new children to Yorkley school - they a vital part of the settling in period during September.
The buddies have many roles and responsibilities which include:
*helping the children to play co-operatively
*be a helping hand in the dinner hall
*teach children to play a wide range of games
*help the children to make friendships
*most importantly - to always be an available friend
