The School Day

SCHOOL TIMES

The school timetable for infants and juniors reflects the increased teaching time required for juniors (Key stage 2).

Our ‘Soft Start’ requires all children to arrive on the school site at 8.40am, when they will come straight into class. This time means that our children are calm and ready to learn when the school day begins at 9am (Infants) and 8.50am (Juniors).

                           Infants                  Juniors

Start                 9.00 am                      8.50 am

Break               10.45 – 11 am           10.45 – 11 am

Lunch              12.00 – 1.00 pm        12.10 – 1.00 pm

Break               2.15 – 2.30 pm           None

Finish              3.00 pm                   3.00 pm

Breakfast Club. Children can arrive at school from 7.45 am, and have a healthy breakfast of fruit juice, cereal and toast. After breakfast children can choose quiet activities, drawing, model building, jigsaws and sewing in a supervised area of the school hall.

Children who don’t want to have breakfast but need an early drop off  can arrive at school from 8 am and join in the activities mentioned above.

Please contact the school office for further details.

SCHOOL DRESS AND EQUIPMENT

Yorkley has a school uniform.  We ask parents and children for their support and co-operation in this matter in order to help us foster a sense of pride and belonging to the Yorkley family.  We have tried to make the uniform as parent and child-friendly as possible.
