This term we are using WOW questions instead of topic titles to help promote the children’s curiosity! Linked to the history area we are learning – mining in the Forest of Dean, the question is, ‘how deep can you mine?’.
We have used a loan box filled with mining artefacts, from the Dean Heritage site and this really given the learning the WOW factor! Next we are planning to venture into the woods to link up art and science, so look out for the letter and if you want to join us you at more than welcome!
P.E. is still on Tuesday . Please remember it is a plain white t-shirt and black or navy blue shorts. No football kit please. In addition to P.E. there is swimming on a Thursday afternoon.
Thank you to all the children and parents who complete the homework set, to the highest of standards, it is a pleasure to mark it.
Homework is given on the Friday and returned by the latest the following Friday. There is a homework book for you to use. If there are any issues with resources please ask and we will see what we can do! Reading is so crucial to your child’s development, so please read as often as you can around your busy schedules. Keep up all the fantastic work you are doing with your child because as you now know the expectations are so much more than before.
Please keep practising times tables with your child as this will help them enormously in their school work. Also encourage your child to read and tell the time please as this is a skill that needs lots of repeating.
If you have any questions or need to speak to me for any other reason, please come and see me at the end of the day. I will either be able to answer your questions there and then, or will be able to make an appointment to talk at a more convenient time.
